Lake O Flynn Bog Walk and Cycle Tour

  • A short 3.4km looped walk that circles a lovely  information and picnic area and outdoor gym.
  • A longer 6.4km loop called the Wild Goose Bog Walk brings walkers into the heart of the bog habitat, with information panels to describe the wide variety of flora and fauna here.
  • A 12km cycle route circles the lake, starting in Ballinlough village.
  • Water based activities with Lake O’Flynn are boating, sailing and kayaking.

Located just north of Ballinlough Village, Lake O’Flynn has achieved national and international recognition for both its course and trout angling. The 234-hectare Limestone Lake is popular for sailing, boating and kayaking, and it also boasts two looped walks and a cycle route. The 6.4km Wild Goose Bog Walk brings walkers to the heart of the bog habitat, the 3.4km loop has the perfect picnic spot, and the 12km cycle route circles the lake. Something for everyone, in other words!
